How it Works
Acumen
As a clinician, my work is informed by the scientist-practitioner model which emphasizes the role of applying a systematic and thoughtful set of interventions to meet my client’s needs. From your side of our work, this means you can expect evidenced-based interventions and conversations related to your care. I work from a variety of theoretical disciplines and orientations; however, these are the orientations which most deeply impact my work:
· Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
· Cognitive Therapy
· Interpersonal Therapy
· Family Based Treatment (for Anorexia/ ARFID)
· Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ARFID
Advancement
Lastly, our work together is closely guided by advancement of your care. This means, that a key tenant of our relationship will be based on gathering data (e.g. objective measurement, psychological inventories, behavioral observation) and assessing that data thru a collaborative process in relation to our work in relation to meeting your goals.
Advocacy
In addition to a scientific backing for our work together, a cornerstone of an effective therapeutic relationship is advocacy. In our work together, you’ll find this advocacy is centered around my commitment to helping you meet your goals, while holding your personhood and culture at the center of our treatment. My commitment to you is to continually work toward delivering effective and culturally competent care.
